These intelligent dogs came from Germany and France and were bred as a water dog to retrieve water-foul. The Standard Poodle (very large) was used in Russia to pull milk carts.

The dense, fine hair of the Poodle does not shed so it is perfect for a person who has allergies.

I’ve seen Standard Poodles and they are intelligent, lively and love life. Their stride is beautiful with a trotting gait.

Practically any color you also have a choice of what shade of Poodle you want.  They need regular exercise but are ideal for apartment living. They also make a very good watch dog.

You have three sizes of Poodle to choose from. There is the Standard, Miniature and Toy. They range in size from 15 to 25 inches at the shoulder to 8 to 9 inches and weigh from 70 pounds to 7 pounds. So you can pretty much choose your size.
